February 25, 2026 - 2026 LexCount, Mindy Maxey, Hunter Demshar, Faith Baggot, and Jonathan Garcia came together with open hearts, dedicating their time from 10 PM to 11:59 PM to serve our community. They were assigned specific areas of Lexington, where they reached out to unhoused individuals, offering a warm smile, a listening ear, and—if welcomed—a brief survey along with care bags filled with food, hygiene supplies, and warming gear. This experience was deeply moving; it opened our eyes to the unique struggles and resilience of those facing homelessness. We left with a renewed sense of purpose, realizing that our actions truly matter and that even small gestures can bring hope to those experiencing housing insecurity. More than ever, we’re committed to supporting the city’s efforts to end homelessness, and we believe WPSARDC can continue to make a difference—helping people find shelter and reminding them that they are seen, valued, and never alone.
